Height restriction barriers made for real site conditions
A height restriction barrier creates a clear physical and visual limit for vans, lorries, caravans and other high-sided vehicles. The correct design depends on more than the clear opening: consider the permitted vehicle height, how often unrestricted access is needed, operating space, ground conditions and who will control the barrier.
Fixed height barriers suit entrances where the restriction remains in place. Single- and double-leaf opening barriers can be unlocked when authorised tall vehicles need access. Manual raise-arm options are useful where a horizontal arm is more practical than swinging leaves. Models with lower gates can also close the entrance completely outside operating hours.
What to confirm before ordering
- Measure the clear road width and required restriction height at the installation position.
- Allow safe space for leaves, arms, latch posts and any suspended knocking bar.
- Choose surface-fixed or root-fixed posts around the existing pavement and foundation design.
- Decide whether galvanising, a high-visibility coating, signage or nationwide installation is required.
Barrier Shop supplies standard, heavy-duty and made-to-order configurations. For unusual widths, exposed sites or entrances carrying frequent commercial traffic, send photographs and dimensions through our project enquiry form before ordering.
