These conditions apply when Barrier Shop supplies manufactured barriers, gates, traffic products, road forms, shelters and related site equipment through this website, by quotation, email or telephone.
Effective date: 19 July 2026
1. The supplier and the contract
Barrier Shop is operated by Height Barriers Ltd, registered in England and Wales under company number 14309958. Our business address is Unit 5, Vastre Industrial Estate, Newtown, Powys, SY16 1DZ. Contact us at sales@heightbarriers.co.uk or 01686 213370.
A product page, estimate or quotation invites an order; it is not acceptance by itself. Your order is an offer to purchase. A contract begins when we issue written acceptance, receive and accept payment, or start manufacture, whichever happens first. We may reject an order before acceptance where information is incomplete, supply or delivery is impractical, fraud is suspected, or an obvious pricing or description mistake has occurred.
2. Specifications and suitability
- We take reasonable care over descriptions, configurations and prices.
- Unless expressly guaranteed in an approved drawing or written quotation, dimensions, weights, colours, capacities and finishes are approximate and subject to normal manufacturing tolerance.
- New product photographs are illustrative; lighting, screens, raw materials and production variation can change appearance.
- Minor manufacturing changes may be introduced where they do not materially reduce function or quality.
- You must check the product, measurements, duty, finish and options before ordering.
Traffic-control, load-bearing and security products require competent selection and installation. Performance depends on the entire arrangement, including foundations, span, loading, vehicle type, speed, drainage, restraint, visibility and maintenance—not merely on one product dimension.
3. Pricing, VAT and payment
Unless the page or quotation states otherwise, product prices are shown excluding VAT and exclude delivery, collection or installation. Applicable VAT and additional charges are confirmed before acceptance. Payment must use an offered checkout method or another method agreed in writing. Cleared funds may be required before materials are ordered, manufacture begins or goods are dispatched. Title to goods remains with Height Barriers Ltd until all sums due for them are paid.
4. Manufactured and bespoke orders
Many products are made after acceptance. An item is bespoke when it uses customer measurements, a non-standard opening or height, a selected project finish, an approved drawing, special holes or other customer-specific requirements. You are responsible for the accuracy of information and approvals you provide.
A manufacturing lead time starts only when required details, approvals and payment have been received. A later change may alter the price and delivery date, and may be impossible once material has been cut or fabrication has begun.
5. Delivery, collection and access
- Dates are estimates unless expressly guaranteed in writing.
- Do not book contractors, cranes, closures or concrete work until the consignment has arrived and been checked.
- Tell us about restricted access, unloading needs, time limits and vehicle restrictions before delivery is arranged.
- Mechanical unloading is the customer’s responsibility unless the quotation includes it.
- Extra carrier or handling costs caused by failed access, delay, redirection or an unavailable recipient may be charged.
For a business order, risk transfers on delivery or collection. For a consumer order, risk transfers when the consumer or their nominated person physically receives the goods.
6. Cancellation and change-of-mind returns
A consumer purchasing standard goods at distance will generally have 14 days after receipt to notify cancellation and a further 14 days to return the goods. Send a clear request with the name and order number. The consumer normally pays return transport and must take reasonable care of the goods. We may deduct for handling that goes beyond what is reasonably needed to inspect them.
The statutory change-of-mind right does not generally apply to goods made to a customer’s specification or clearly personalised. This does not remove legal remedies for faulty, misdescribed or incorrectly supplied goods. Business cancellations and cancellations outside consumer rights require written agreement. A reasonable charge may be retained or invoiced for materials, work and other costs already committed; once bespoke manufacture starts, cancellation may not be possible.
7. Damage, shortages and defects
Inspect the delivery promptly. Record visible carrier damage and send photographs and order details without unnecessary delay. Business customers should report visible damage, shortages or incorrect goods in writing within seven working days so the carrier evidence can be investigated. That reporting request does not override a right which the law does not allow us to restrict.
Contact us before returning a faulty or incorrect item. Following assessment, we will provide the repair, replacement, reduction or refund required by the agreement and applicable law.
8. Installation and safe use
Competent people must plan lifting, foundations, installation, electrical or hydraulic connections, commissioning, inspection and maintenance. Follow the instructions, standards, risk assessment, method statement and site rules. We are not responsible for loss caused by unsuitable selection, misuse, overloading, inadequate foundations, poor installation, unauthorised modification or neglected maintenance.
9. Website rights
The Barrier Shop website, its newly written copy, product images, layouts, drawings and other content are owned by or licensed to Height Barriers Ltd. You may use them to evaluate and purchase products. Commercial reproduction, resale, republication or distribution requires prior written permission.
10. Liability
Nothing here excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, a defective product where exclusion is unlawful, or another liability which cannot legally be limited.
For business customers, and so far as law permits, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses or loss of profit, revenue, production, contract, savings or goodwill. Our aggregate liability connected with an order will not exceed the sum paid for the relevant goods, except where such a limit is prohibited. Consumers keep all mandatory statutory rights.
11. Circumstances outside our control
We are not responsible for delay or non-performance resulting from events beyond reasonable control, including material or energy shortage, transport disruption, severe weather, industrial action, utility or communications failure, fire, flood, epidemic, government action or supplier failure. We will take reasonable steps to reduce the impact and communicate material changes.
12. General provisions
If one provision is invalid, the remaining provisions continue. A delay in enforcement is not a waiver. Personal information is handled under the Privacy Policy. These conditions and orders are governed by English and Welsh law. Business customers submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales; consumers may also have rights to bring proceedings where they live in the UK.
