Design for every site user
School, park and local-authority entrances often combine cars, pedestrians, cyclists, minibuses, maintenance vehicles and occasional deliveries. The barrier must sit within a wider access plan with clear pedestrian routes, adequate visibility and an agreed unlocking procedure.
Opening height barriers retain full-height access when authorised staff need it. Fixed models are simpler where every permitted vehicle stays below the limit. Lower-gate combinations can secure the whole entrance after hours.

- Confirm vehicle and pedestrian movements at busy times.
- Measure width, clearance and leaf swing without relying on old drawings.
- Agree key control, inspection and safe hold-open procedures.
